The entire Cenote Hydration System is made of food grade materials and is BPA-free and Phthalate-free. When used as it is intended, the bag will hold up as long as non-recyclable drinking systems. If you run over your hydration reservoir with a semi or pump it full of air, like some of our competitors do to test their products, the bag might not give a top-of-the-line performance. But honestly, if you are in a situation where you need to pump a reservoir full of air (makeshift life raft?), you might have more to worry about than the quality of your hydration system.
To recycle your old reservoir, just cut out the plastic cap connector made of plastic #2 from the rest of the bag made of plastic #4 and stick them separately into your recycle bin.
The Cenote Hydration System recyclable cap connector is made of high-density polyethylene and fits wide mouth hand-held filtration systems and caps, including the Polar Bottle® water bottle cap.
To recycle the cap connector, simply cut along the dotted lines on the reservoir to separate the #2 plastic fitment from the #4 plastic bag then toss them into the recycle bin.
The Cenote Hydration System’s polyurethane hosing is BPA-free, antimicrobial and durable enough to hold up to whatever you might throw at it (except for really good scissors, or equally sharp objects).
The durable silicone bite valve allows for 360º drinking that yields a steady, high water flow. The valve’s optional on/off positions make it extra leak proof and easily removable parts make cleaning a breeze.
To use the bite valve, turn the valve perpendicular to the hose, bite down on the red plastic center and suck. Turn the valve parallel to the hose when not in use. If this is too complicated for you, give us a call and our team of bite valve specialists will be happy to walk you through it.
